You're reading this because you applied for a job at a McDonald's restaurant that uses the jaluru Recruitment Screener, and you've been invited to a screening call. This page explains, in plain English, what happens to your information.

Who is responsible for your information

The business you applied to (the company that runs the restaurant) decides how your application is used - they are the data controller. Jaluru Trust ("jaluru") provides the Recruitment Screener to them and handles your information only on their instructions, as their data processor. Their own privacy information for job applicants also applies.

What happens

A person makes every decision

The AI never decides whether you get the job and never rejects anyone. It gives the hiring team the evidence and a recommendation; a person at the restaurant decides who is invited to the next stage. You can ask to speak to a person instead at any time during the call, and you can ask the restaurant for a person to review your assessment.

What we use, and what we don't

We use your name, mobile number, email address, the restaurant you applied to, your experience, education and availability, and what you say on the call.

We do not use your date of birth (only whether you're under 18), health or disability information, criminal-record answers, parent or guardian details, your home address, photos, marital or family status, National Insurance number, nationality or immigration status, the languages you speak, or your referees. How you speak - your accent, fluency or grammar - is never scored, only what you say.

How long it's kept

Where it's processed

Your information is stored mainly in the United Kingdom. Some of the services that make the call and the AI work are provided from outside the UK, including the United States; these transfers are protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how it is used. Please contact the business you applied to first. You can also email privacy@jaluru.com and we will pass your request on and help them respond. If you're not happy with the answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.
