Surveys

Hearing every team member, not just the loud ones

Every employer wants to know how their people are doing. In hourly work the usual tools let you down. An annual online survey reaches the salaried and the keen. One-to-one check-ins happen for new starters in a good month and nobody in a bad one.

A five-minute phone call

Our customers use Jaluru to run their regular check-ins as phone calls. Each person gets a text with a short code. When they have a few minutes, often on a break, they reply and the AI rings them.

It asks how they feel about working there, whether they feel safe and respected, what is going well, what could be better, whether they are interested in promotion, and whether they see themselves staying.

Scoring what needs attention

Every answer gets a score from 0 to 1 for how much it needs a manager's attention. We call it the escalation score. "I love my team" scores near zero. "My manager shouts at me in front of customers" scores near one, and an alert goes to HR.

Most of what comes back is in the middle, and is the most useful: the person who has asked for training twice, the one who would like fewer closing shifts, the one who wants to become a trainer and has never been asked.

The view from above

Individual reports help the store manager. The summary report helps everyone else. For each question it shows how answers are spread, summarises what people said, and pulls out the comments that most need attention. You can compare one store with another, or the same store month to month.

What we changed

Early on we rang people at a scheduled time. It works much better to let each person choose their own moment. People are happy to talk. They just do not want to be rung in the middle of something.
